Supporting Research

The Legal Aid Board is committed to developing its research function, liaising with relevant stakeholders to further our collective knowledge and ensure our policy decisions and practices are evidence-based to the greatest extent possible.

We do this by engaging with higher education institute academics and staff and other recognised bodies. Our aim is to provide appropriate opportunities to link with the Legal Aid Board, its staff, clients and data in the pursuit of research that has a shared interest and common purpose.

Our approach seeks to collaborate on research projects informed by the Board’s key goals to deliver a high-quality service experience for clients. We also welcome the chance to explore research proposals that span our areas of work.

If you would like to discuss a research proposal, please email your details to the Research Unit - research@legalaidboard.ie. We will respond as soon as we can.
