The Legal Aid Board advertises staff vacancies through:

  • The Legal Aid Board Website
  • The Website of the Law Society of Ireland
  • Public Appointment Service (PAS)

We employ over 500 staff in a variety of roles across approximately 50 locations nationwide. The roles include solicitors, mediators, administrative and paralegal grades.  We also recruit specialist grades in areas such as research, ICT, Data Protection among others.

We also use the services of the Public Appointments Service (PAS) who continue to provide a centralised recruitment service for the civil service as a whole.

Our recruitment practices are in accordance with the terms of a recruitment license granted by the Commission for Public Service Appointments (CPSA).

The standards for recruitment and selection applied by the Board are set out in Codes of Practice published by the CPSA.
