How do I Submit a Request?

The Country of Origin (COI) team researches and provides up-to-date relevant information on conditions in countries of origin to support international protection cases. Requests for specific COI can be submitted by email to research@legalaidboard.ie 

Topics covered by COI include:

• Human Rights;
• Women;
• Politics;
• Conflict/ Security/ State Protection;
• Prison/ Torture;
• Religion;
• Refugees/ Asylum Seakers/ IDP’s;
• Humanitarian/ Development;
• Health;
• LGBT

Example questions:

• Can you please provide updates on the current humanitarian situation in [Country X]?
• How are members of a [listed topic] treated by individuals and police in [Country Y]?
• What is the security situation in [Country Z]?

When submitting requests, please include the date you wish the request to be completed, your question(s), and your reference number.
